0 Euro enters Australia
Vintage Coins and Banknotes has recently got in something new: a rare collection of 0 euro souvenir banknotes featuring various topics ranging from Count Dracula in Romania to the Black Napoleon in Haiti. What are they? 0 euro souvenir banknotes are entering their fifth year of circulation in mainly Europe and up untill now 1489 editions with different topic have been created by French entrepreneur Richard Faille together with the printing facility Oberthur Fiducaire in France. The 0 euro banknotes bear the same quality as regular euro banknotes and are printed on filigran paper, have a serialnumber, watermark and other security features. They are sold and tourist hotspots ranging from the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin and available in many museums.
Anzac Day commemorative banknote edition
Best sellers of the 0 euro collection are Karl Marx and the former Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, known to many Australians and New-Zealanders for his part in the Gallipoli campaign. There is one banknote portraying the battleground of Gallipoli featuring Colonel Ataturk and corporal Seyit Ombasi. This brought Vintage Coins and Banknotes to the idea of contacting the 0 euro banknote company of doing a special edition featuring Anzac Day!
